I didnt realise it had actually been a year until we were halfway through and I noticed the date as we were flicking through my LJ history here. way back on Nov 18 2006 me and mati had a little drink and co-operatively drew a comic together. It just so happens we got together yesterday and did the exact same thing, one day off an entire year later, thats kinda creepy co-incidence.
Some quality music, a nice tipple [matts bday glenmorangie] and a gentlemanly draw. Have fun trying to guess who drew which panels. And good luck reading the illegible handwritings!
I might upload them with photoshopped text like last time if you guys really want me to, this is just a quick upload before i forget.

I really enjoyed Phantom Hourglass. Its probably the most fun I've had with my DS so far, I mean DS unique games of course. Sonic and mario are just platformers, phoenix wright didnt really NEED the touchscreen [the tapping on clues could be done other ways, and skiping text gets tedious.] But Phantom Hourglass seems to be the game that the DS was made for. It uses every function and uses it well. There is some decent character development in the form of Linebeck and the oldman/fairy. And its split up into a nice plot, instead of the standard save the princess fare, they inject some nice humour into the old standbys [Link holding up an item going DA DA DA DAA as the old man snatches it and link falls over was great] and the ending which i'm not going to ruin, but it was nice to have a bit of a more unqiue plot. Of course Im gonna say it was too short, that was my same gripe with windwaker and twilight princess, but Its pretty much the only series I wait for new releases on so I kinda want a game that'll last me in replay till the next one comes out.
I hope they do make some more windwaker DS tales in this vein though, its brilliantly suited to it, and I can see it being quite quick and efficient to do [as opposed to one zelda per main nintendo console, as seems to be the developing standard]
And naturally I've already got my assumptions when it comes to where this fits in the timeline, but I'm not gonna bore you with those here, I've already got a massive zelda timeline worked out in my head linking all the games. Love the little references to windwaker and links awakening in this though. And of course I think the Ocean King and the Windfish are related.
End Ramble.
Nice to have a game where the badguy wasnt Ganon or Vaati though!

Okay, So while Im awake or to keep myself awake, Im posting some stuff thats not in the usual vein.
Two things: 1, Majikmasters is being worked on. So far about 9 pages pencilled and 2 coloured. Thats me on pencils and such and Kerry colouring and general mistakage. It was a lot easier to work on in canada with her shouting at me pointing out my mistakes, but heres hoping the rest of the pages come out nice too.
And 2, Im starting a little side project on and off thing, to help practice getting the hang of my tablet, in which Im just gonna do everything in photoshop myself, colouring included. Its called DisCHORDant and its an idea I've had floating about for a while. I figured with LifeWaltz dead in the water, I need something to work on regularly to sharpen my skills in comic putting togetherness and layouts etc.
So, heres a quick preview of both. [bear In mind Im still doing those Rico's Modern Life strips when I get the spark.]
1: MajikMasters Print issue. A 24 page comic about How Marv met Rio. Rico pencils/Kerry colours.

and 2: DisCHORDant webcomic page. An ongoing comic to be updated in blocks of like 5 pages when they're done and stuff, probably. Havent decided. Just wanna get something done. All by myself. Im a big boy now.

But Im still trying to get stuff done inbetween work and the little sleep im getting now. Such as the magazine, the novel, a few musical things im working on, and all the other general hubbub.

This is of course a lie, so far we have 20 people signed up to go. And the premise is deceptively simple, I've wrangled up a bunch of artists from a forum who all want to start a comic, and we're all going to start together. Update at least once a week, comic is whatever they want to do, just as long as they update regular.
We're all gonna get together in a community and egg each other on to keep going and generally give each other ideas and keep each other motivated to do what we can and on a regular basis. Its kinda like starting your own comic, except you're not on your own and you've got all these people starting at the same time you can relate to.
Either way, its gonna be awesome, Cant wait!
